Pray!

Yesterday was the opening arguments for our Supreme Court to consider maintaining the definition of traditional marriage or redefine it.

The Christians in this country must pray for God to touch our Justices to refuse to redefine marriage, and uphold as a nation, the traditional definition of marriage which is between a man and a woman.

Pray, get your friends to pray.  Pray in church, pray at home, pray everywhere.  Be like the watchmen on the walls of Jerusalem who never keep silent.  Take no rest and do not give God any rest until this country becomes a praise in the land with the traditional definition of marriage (see Isaiah 62:6-7).
Prayer changes things including the hearts of leaders (Prov. 21:1-3).
Our work on this matter is in the courts and on our knees in prayer, and loving the proponents of same sex marriage with the love of Christ.
Christians, we can disagree with people and still show care and concern for them as Jesus commanded in the second greatest commandment.
If our leaders redefine marriage, and continue to promote a society without God, and no established values, our leaders will put in place unfortunate weaknesses, and our inevitable demise as a nation.
God is right when He declares: "There is a way that seems right to a man, But it's end is the way of death" (Prov 16:25).
Pray!  Include this issue in your time of fasting and prayer. Pray!  Let your light shine, and pray.

God Bless,

Will You Stand on The Lord's Side?

15 "If it is disagreeable in your sight to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves today whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served which were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD" (Joshua 24:15).

As our Nations Supreme Court Justices hear arguments regarding the traditional definition of marriage, they must decide if they are going to follow the ways of the world and follow the idol gods in the world, and redefine marriage, or take a stand with The True and Living God.

This is a defining moment in America.  We started with God as we established laws based on the Word of God.
Now, a hand full of Justices will decide if our nation will honor God or follow other nations who abandoned God's Word a long time ago.

Christians, now is the time for us to stand like Joshua, and take a stand for God, and serve Him.  God has not changed His Word.  God says that marriage is still between a man and a woman (Gen. 2:24-25; Matt. 19:5; Eph. 5:31).
The "big lie" that the proponents of same sex marriage tries to perpetuate is that, if we disagree with them, we are cruel, evil,    and we do not love them.  This is a "big lie" and a smoke screen to hide the real issues.
Christians, we will defeat this "big lie" by the way we treat the proponents of same sex marriage.  We simply show care and concern for them, and continue to speak God's truth to them in love.
Christians, now is the time to pray like never before.  God's people must pray for God to touch the hearts of the Supreme Court Justices to uphold traditional marriage in America.

God Bless,

Expect a Fight When Behind Enemy Lines

When you lead someone to Jesus, or you help someone become a loyal follower of Jesus, expect the enemy to attack.

Obeying the Lord's Great Commission to make disciples puts us behind enemy lines.  When behind enemy lines, look for the traps that create tension in your marriage.  Expect a flaming arrow to land in your child's besroom at night (they went to bed happy, but woke up upset and full of resistance).  Expect potential conflict all around you.  Expect also numerous small brush fires (at work, with finances, relationships, etc) that threaten to become huge fires if not put out.

You will find yourself stretched thin and missing prayer, and time in the word, here and there.

When the enemy attacks, realize that you have a choice: 1) run and be overtaken by the enemy. 2) ignore what is happening and be surprised when the enemy sucker punches you in your face. Or 3) prayerfully put on, and keep on the whole armor of God so you can stand firm and fight your way to victory through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Christians, when we choose the third option, we are sure to win.  We come out with battle scares, but victory is ours.
Ephesians 6:14-17:
14 Stand firm therefore, HAVING GIRDED YOUR LOINS WITH TRUTH, and HAVING PUT ON THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS,
15 and having shod YOUR FEET WITH THE PREPARATION OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE;
16 in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
17 And take THE HELMET OF SALVATION, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

God Bless,

Getting God's Prosperity and Success

God clearly wants us to enjoy His prosperity and His success as He is very generous, and can give richly because He is rich in the fullest sense.

What God ask us of us to experience His divine prosperity and success is good stuff.
Joshua 1:8:
8 "This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success."   NASB
Meditating on God's Word during the day and night gets God's Word inside of us in a practical useable way (meditation is going over the Word several times in our hearts).  If we think about God, we will think about Him, versus ignoring Him throughout the day.

Obeying God's Word get God's Word out of us through our actions in real life situations.  Obedience to God's Word is the practical outcome of meditating on God's Word.

Meditation plus Obedience results in God's prosperity and good success.
No one can take it away from you, and you get it, and enjoy it without regrets or shame (cf. Prov. 10:22).
God's prosperity and success is much more than the accumulation of cars, clothes, homes, money, and other assets.  It is not limited to a small group either, but for everyone who is serious about taking God at His Word.

Just practice Joshua 1:8, and experience it for yourself.

God Bless,

Putting a Smile on God's Face

As I served with the Mt. Zion family last weekend for our largest resurrection service in our 92 year history, I am convinced that God's smile was upon us.

The celebration kicked off with a Holy Spirit filled evening of good word from the Mt Zon ministers, and singing, and worship, concluding with The Lord's Supper.  Then Saturday evening the celebration continued with another Spirit filled worship service, and then starting again early Sunday morning.  We did our first all day worship and concert in the park (seven hours of worshipping our God because of the resurrection from the dead).
Praise the Lord!!

On Sunday, over 250 volunteers operateed as one body with many gifted members.  I was the happiest pastor on the planet as I watched God use His people to lift up the name of Jesus in our community and beyond (beyond via Live Stream).

The great lesson for us was to trust God to do a work beyond what we could ask and think.  We had to think beyond ourselves to experience a "God Size" result (Eph 3:20-21).

Christians, if we can see and control everything we are doing in ministry, and in life, our vision is not big enough and our faith is too small.

Stepping out and "letting go and letting God" is experiencing the abundant life Jesus promised (John 10:10).

Where do you need to step out and "let go and let God?"

God Bless,
