In the Face of Difficulty, How Do You Pray?

When faced with arrest, injustice in the criminal justice system, cruelty and harsh beatings, insults, conviction, and being sentenced to death, how did Jesus pray?

We often ask, "what would Jesus do"?
The real question is, are we willing to do what Jesus did?

We see how Jesus prayed in the face of difficulty in Matt. 26:36-45.  After Jesus went to one of His favorite praying spots, look at what He prayed in Matt. 26:39:
39 Going a little farther, He fell facedown and prayed, “My Father! If it is possible, let this cup pass from Me. Yet not as I will, but as You will.”

Jesus prayed for God's will to be done in His life.  Do you trust God's will for your life?  Do you trust God to have your best interest at heart?  Or are you caught up in what human teachers are saying against what Jesus did in the garden in prayer?  Do you think that Jesus would model something inferior?

Make no mistake about the matter.  When God commands us in Phil. 2:5, to take upon ourselves the mind of Christ, that also includes His prayer life.

Instead of trying to get our own way, let us try God's will for our lives.

God Bless,

Pastor Kennedy (MZO)
