While returning home from Roanoke, Virginia yesterday, the Lord reminded me afresh that God-sized outcomes happen because of Holy Spirt power (Zachariah 4:6-9). Zerubbabel had a God sized opportunity in rebuilding the temple. In 2019, you also have God sized opportunities before you. God chooses to take your meager human efforts and empower you with the Holy Spirit for God-sized outcomes. In 2019, live for God-sized outcomes by constantly tapping into the Holy Spirit’s power. May the Lord grant you a prosperous New Year. Pastor Brian E. Kennedy, Sr.
PS: See you tonight at the New Years Eve Celebration including food, fun, games, prayer, testimonies, and baptism (7:30 pm to 12:30 am).

When Multiple People Go to Heaven in a Local Church
When Multiple People Go to Heaven in a Local Church.
Perhaps what God gives me when multiple loved ones go to heaven at Mt. Zion, and in my life will encourage you.
First, God allows me the freedom to hurt while I serve. I don't have to play super strongman because God is the source of my strength.
Second, As I serve God on my way to glory, I realize I will have several painful pauses: God will retire from this life someone I love deeply, and bring them home for eternal rest and reward.
As for me, I grieve with hope and continue to give Him a lifetime of faithfully service until He calls me into retirement and escorts me into eternal rest and reward. I am listening for “well done My good and faithful servant.”
Third, God allows me the freedom to miss them, think about them frequently, thank God for what they contributed, and gain encouragement to also leave Christian legacy for others to appreciate and use for His glory.
None of the members of Mt. Zion, family, and friends make up casual relationships, but are loving family members who personally impacted my life, and whom I will see in heaven.
Yes, dealing with death is painful for all of us, but remember it is just a pause, because one day we will get to heaven and what day of rejoicing that will be. When we all see Jesus, we will sing and shout the victory (I Thess. 5:13-18).
God Bless

A Christmas Pursuit?
A Christmas Pursuit?
Through the Prophet Hosea, God told His children that He wanted them to show love for Him more than insincere sacrifices; and He wanted them to know Him up close and personal (Hosea 6:6).
As you do life during Christmas, go for the deep seated love relationship with God through Jesus the Christ, which transcends presents, tress, and lights which are all beautiful but are only symbols, superficial and temporary.
Being straight with God facilitates meaningful relationships with others. The others are people in whom you share the gospel, which is at the heart of Christmas. The others are family and friends who have your best interest at heart. The others are those in whom you need to reconcile, or get to know, or help. Pursuing relationships reflects the love which comes from God, Who sent Christ so that we can have a Merry Christmas with Him and others (John 3:16).

God will Show Up!
God will Show Up!
The book of Esther is a great example of how God is in control. People can plot and plan evil against you, but God overrides evil plans and turns them on the evil planners.
Our role as Christians is to do what is righteous before God. The Bible is our standard and shapes our values, and practices.
Christian prayerfully live for God, and stand up for what God says is right, and watch God intervene.
In the Book of Esther, chapter 7, God turned Haman’s evil plot to destroy the Jews against him, and exalted His people (Psalm 23:5; 37; Gen. 50:19-20; etc., substantiates this point).
Be encouraged, God is at work and will show up in your circumstances.

Is Your Heart Comletely His?
Is Your Heart Completely His?
King Asa, ruled over Judah 41 years. He trusted God completely and God supernaturally intervened when the odds were against him (war against Israel and Ethiopia). Toward the end of his reign, he was strong and decided to trust in his “human strength” verses God to deal with the threat from the nation of Aram, and he got into trouble with God.
This is what what God said: "For the eyes of the LORD move to and fro throughout the earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His. You have acted foolishly in this. Indeed, from now on you will surely have wars" (II Chron. 16:9).
Ask God to check you heart today to see if you are totally dependent on the Him, or if you are depending on your human strength and resources (Psalm 139:23-24). A great prayer to emulate is II Chron. 14:11, cf. II Chron. 13.

Need Some Help
Need Some Help?
Psalm 121 is one of the famous Psalms the Hebrew pilgrims sang as they journeyed up to Jerusalem from the area around the Salt Sea (lowest place on earth).
The clear point is our help comes from the Lord.
He keeps our feet from stumbling.
He will not fall asleep on the job (in your deepest crisis God is alert and working even when you don’t see Him working).
He is our keeper in general.
Circumstances will not destroy us.
He will protect us from evil.
He will protect our soul.
He will protect us in our daily activities.
He will eternally be involved in our lives even when we leave this life.
He will even protect us in our transition to glory so that we arrive at our eternal home safely to His loving arms.
Need some help? Find your help in the Lord. Pray with total confidence in His presence and power in your life for right now and forever.

Ask God to give you wisdom today.
Ask God to give you wisdom today.
“For the LORD gives wisdom;
From His mouth come knowledge and understanding” (Prov 2:6).
Information we gather in school, training, reading, etc is how God gives us knowledge.
Understanding or comprehending what you lean is next.
Then knowing how to practically apply what you understand about what you learned is a one aspect of wisdom.
Ask God to give you wisdom today.
