Individualist or Interdependent?

Our culture promotes individualism as the normal mode of operation.  Self-reliance, independence, and preoccupation with serving self first and foremost, despite the needs of others, is at the heart of individualism.

God promotes interdependence. Interdependence, is where I need you, and you need me.  In Rom. 12:4-5, God emphatically stated that we are intimately connected to each other.

"For just as we have many members in one body and all the members do not have the same function,
5 so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another" (Rom. 12:4-5).

Christian's being connected to Christ, and doing acts of care and concern for others in life is much more fulfilling than an excessive preoccupation with getting all we can get, canning all we get, and sitting on the can of self-centered pursuits (Luke 12:13-21).

God Bless,
